Facade

This drawing is supposed to be about hiding your unwanted attributes and only letting the world see your likeable/pretty attributes. In Gail's case his bad attributes are his drinking, his horns, and his bad magic, indicated by the paper bird but it needs some context - he puts terrible spells on beautiful things to trick people. Those are placed behind him and only the beautiful things show in front.

I drew this last year but never colored it. I didn't like how it was super heavy on the left and empty on the right. I thought it would be great to use for an experiment. I tried to go super heavy on the values/shading/contrast/whatever because I always feel like mine aren't good enough. Now I feel like it's a bit too much xD

- Watercolor Paper (Strathmore Cold press acid free 140lbs)
- Copic & Tombow Markers
- Gouache (Holbein)
- White Gel Pen
- Sea Salt
* I did use a little computer to make more room on the left, by copying, pasting, and blending part of the background color from the right.
